The Road to the National Championship Starts with These Fundamentals for 08
1. Our defense must bring pressure and hit the quarterback, not sit back in a soft zone all the time. (When we won the National Championship game, we hit Dorsey often! If you watched the Super Bowl you saw that Tom Brady got hit often (finally) and that's how New York hung in and won. We haven't done this in the last two National Championship games.)
2. We need to simplify our offense and run the ball two out of three downs. How do we not give the ball to Beanie Wells thirty plus times in the title game? He ran over the LSU defense when he had the ball.
3. Play Big Ten Football. Give our quarterback a big target to throw to. We didn't throw to a tight end in the last two title games. (If so, it wasn't often.)
4. Who cares about SEC teams with all their speed? Our identity should be "smash mouth football" (which equals Big Ten Football). We can control the clock by running the football and sacking the quarterback.
5. This is our year! Go Bucks!
